When we were requested to assist with the installation, programming, and final commissioning of an Oasis i5, 5-Brush Automatic car wash system, we eagerly embraced the challenge. Despite not having prior experience with this specific machine, we quickly identified key similarities with the older Ryko 5-Brush units. Our founder, Steve, has deep expertise with the Ryko systems, having successfully installed over 20 units during his career. Drawing from that experience, as well as our thorough knowledge of various brush units from multiple manufacturers, we were confident in our ability to get the job done efficiently and effectively.
Out with the Old, In with the New: A Necessary Upgrade
The client’s previous system, a Jim Coleman E-Fusion unit, had served its purpose, but after countless car washes, it had reached the end of its serviceable life.
Though reliable for years, the unit had become increasingly costly to maintain, and the need for modernization was clear.
The Oasis i5 presented a much-needed upgrade, offering the client enhanced functionality, reduced maintenance costs, and an improved wash experience for customers.
Overcoming Challenges with Expertise:
Every Car Wash installation comes with its own unique set of challenges, and the Oasis i5 was no exception.
While we faced typical obstacles such as the intricacies of working with a machine for the first time, we stayed focused, leveraging our skills and determination to get the job done.
A few early morning starts, including 3 a.m. technical calls to the United States, ensured that we had the right guidance to assemble and commission the system efficiently.
Advanced Features for Maximizing Profitability: Buy-Ups and Wash Clubs
One of the key advantages of the Oasis i5 system is its ability to offer advanced functionalities that provide additional revenue streams for the business.
This installation included integrating the “Pulse System” with the existing entry system.
The older, complex circuitry of the original Unitec entry system has been replaced with a streamlined, modern interface, consisting of a screen driver and a smart “beacon” box that controls the entire system.
All of the now redundant circuitry will be removed at a later date when the site is less busy.
Advanced Features for Maximizing Profitability: Buy-Ups and Wash Clubs
With these upgrades, the system now supports number plate recognition, making it easier for repeat customers to use automated services, while also allowing the implementation of Wash Clubs – a growing trend in Australia. Wash Clubs offer customers the convenience of subscription-based car washing, increasing loyalty and providing the business with a steady revenue stream.
Additionally, the Oasis i5 enables “Buy-Ups,” allowing customers to add extra services during the wash purchase. These bolt-on options, like an “Extra Pre-Soak,” or “Bug Remover” Pass for example enhance the customer experience while increasing average transaction values, contributing to a more profitable car wash operation.
